if i really wanted to stay at penn for awhile, i would have cared more but i didnt so i did not. i wrote in my spreadsheet of the jobs i was applying to in 2014-2015, "max 2 yrs" i want to work before applying to grad school. so im sitting around, at lunch, laughing with my work friends about the dumbest sht on the planet like it really is hs, and that was fine, bc in my mind, i knew it was temporary.
the reason i dont do that, like act like an absolute fking c-nt at work, is bc its a little disingenuous, bc its genuinely not who i am, i can be that, its almost like a "positive manipulation" u have to come across as that so someone takes u seriously, but in the right environment bc @ penn, that's very, very intimidating, but in nyc, ppl get that, that's the norm, well its the norm if u want to play the game at a very high level (i.e. like m s k)

once at penn, i had to meet with this prof in smilow, go to his office there, and i had some questions about the R/Bioconductor i had written, i showed him my screen on my monitor, and he said "oh, i dont look at code" even tho he was a programmer, IN THAT FKING MOMENT i should have been an absolute fking c-nt and been like, no fk u btch, i walked all the way over here, i need ur input on this code i wrote so i can get bullsht project done, but i didnt say anything. obv this 10 yrs ago, but, thats the thing. thats a bullsht thing to say bc he was a professor, why is he not looking at code, bc managers at google say things like that "oh, i dont look at code anymore" but he wasnt at google, he was a prof, his job was to be a fking professor.
